Larry Gene Robert

Larry Gene Robert, Emporia, Kansas, died October 11, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor of Emporia. He was 84 years old.

Larry was born on August 26, 1940, in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Henry and Nellie (Smith) Robert. He graduated from Severy High School. Larry married Kathy Benest on November 5, 1961 in Pratt, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include sons Troy (Kim) Robert, Parkville, MO; Todd (Holly) Robert, Olpe, KS; Thad (Tiffanie) Robert, Emporia, KS; daughter Tara (Monte) McConnaughy, Hutchinson, KS; sister Joyce Sayers, Douglasville, GA; grandchildren Jayden (Robbie) Martinez, Riley Robert, Isabel Littlejohn, Nick Littlejohn, Kynden Robert, Kadey Robert, Trenton Robert, Tanner (Nikita) Robert, Toria Robert, Taban Robert, Tyler Robert, Tessa Robert, Mason, Asher, Garrett and Ava McConnaughy; and great-grandchildren Irene Robert and Landen Martinez.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Elwin, Elden, Wes, Morris, Francis and Floyd Robert, and sister Melba Weyraugh.

After moving to Emporia in 1972, Larry managed the south Reeble grocery store for 28 years. Larry enjoyed haying, raising cattle, cutting wood, and spending time with his family. You could always find him cheering on the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and KU Basketball. He was also a member of the Emporia First Church of the Nazarene.

Cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 12:00 P.M – 4:00 P.M. at the Activity Center at the Emporia First Church of the Nazarene, 2931 W 24th Avenue, Emporia, Kansas, 66801.
