Lavina W. “Scottie” Scott, 90, Emporia, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia.
Lavina Johnson was born in Lindsborg, Kansas on June 13, 1925, the daughter of W. T. and Alfreda (Cronwell) Johnson. She and Billy N. Scott were married January 25, 1947 in McPherson, Kansas. He died September 22, 1991.
Surviving family members include: her sons, Tom Scott, Weston, Texas, Rev. Charles Scott, Emporia, and Robert Scott, whose address is not known; brother, LeeVern Johnson, Lindsborg, Kansas; sister, Carol Rodgers, Topeka, Kansas; four granddaughters; one grandson; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Ervin.
She had worked at the Sears Roebuck Store in Emporia, and later selling advertising specialty supplies for Western Associates.
Through the years, Mom loved bowling, dancing, going to the lake, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. The service will be conducted by her son, Rev. Charles Scott. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, November 15, 2015 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
