Lelia Maxine Weatherhead

Lelia M. Weatherhead, 87, of Emporia, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Flint Hills Care Center. Cremation is planned.

Her memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Pastor Alan Barus of the Sunrise Free Will Baptist Church will officiate.

Lelia Maxine Murrell the daughter of Louis C. and Mary A. Brumley Murrell was born November 19, 1929 in Falcon, MO. She was married to Bruce D. Weatherhead who preceded her in death.

Lelia is survived by a son, Thomas Weatherhead of Emporia, five grandchildren, Nichole Cook of Emporia, Jeremiah Weatherhead and Mason Weatherhead both of Americus, Nola Diebner of Maine, Sara Weatherhead of Illinois, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, David Weatherhead, a brother Harry H. Murrell and a sister, Velma Boggs.
Lelia had worked at the Santa Fe Motel in Emporia and had attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
