Lena Lee Guerro passed away at her home on Jun 27, 2025, at the age of 67.
Lena (she always went by Lee) was born on January 27, 1958, in Pinehurst, New Jersey the daughter of Francis Guerro and Cecelia Weigner. She had one child, Laura Guerro. She had a life partner, Frank McCollum whom she met while working as a nurse in Osawatomie. In life she had many jobs as she started working at the age of 14 starting in meat packing, temp agency, then as a banker for over 20 years, but after obtaining her Associates of Science and Nursing at National American University, she became a nurse. She would later go on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, because she wanted to go into online teaching.
She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Cecelia Wiegner.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Guerro of Olathe, Kansas; her longtime partner Frank McCollum of Eureka, Kansas along with the furry members of her family Blondie, Dolce, Gabbana, Prada and Tux.
Lena was a mother and nurse with lots of love to give, she enjoyed birdwatching, gardening and playing with her many cats.
Cremation is planned. Services are to be planned at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church.
