Leon Francis Pimple

Leon Francis Pimple, 84, died Thursday October 4, 2018 at Presbyterian Manor in Emporia, KS.  He was born June 2, 1934 the son of Wendel and Ella (Lenniger) Pimple.  Leon attended Olpe High School and graduated in 1952.  Out of high school, he joined the Navy and was an electronic technician.  He attended K State on the GI bill after discharge.  He graduated with a BS in electrical engineering and worked for Hughes Aircraft Company until his retirement.  His duties included field engineering support of electronic systems among others.  His last assignment was in facilities support at one of the Hughes plants in Southern California.  Upon his retirement in 1991, he moved back to Olpe to be around family and friends.

Leon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olpe Lions Club, Olpe American Legion, City of Olpe committee member, Olpe Fire Department dispatcher, Shriner and Navy veteran.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers John, Harry, Fr. Alfred and Fritz Pimple and 2 sisters Rosemary Pimple and Helen Moon.  Survivors include his sister Marie Kuhlmann of Emporia, 8 nephews: Jim (Barb) Kuhlmann, Richard (Joann) Kuhlmann, John (Debra) Kuhlmann, Steve (Diana) Kuhlmann all of Olpe, Dan (Bev) Kuhlmann of Odessa, MO, Mike (Janet) Temple of Ingram, TX, Joe(Joyce) Pimple of Alma, Richard (Ann) Temple of Parker, CO and 6 nieces: Julie Kuhlmann of Emporia, Particia (Larry) Abston of Loveland CO, Mary (Terry) Bade of Aurora, CO, Suzanne Temple of Anthony NM, Annette (Joseph) Fourbears of Poulsbo WA, Dura (Matthew) Curry of Bainbridge Island, WA and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosary will be held at St. Joseph Church on Thursday, October 11 at 10:00 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. Fr. Brandon Farrar will be the celebrant. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials of Olpe Fire Department or Honor Flight USD 252.
