Leona Adaline Roach, Emporia, Kansas, died Saturday morning, December 4, 2010 at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor. She was 84.

Leona Adaline Conner was born at Ericson, Nebraska on June 17, 1926, the daughter of Forest Milo and Mohida M. (Yost) Conner. She married Charles W. Roach at Hutchinson, Kansas on July 23, 1945. He died October 29, 2009.

Surviving family members include: daughter, Marilyn Carlson of Cheyenne, Wyoming; son, Larry G. Roach of Emporia, Kansas; brother, Paul Conner of Ferguson, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her twin brother, Leonard Conner; and brother, Wayne Conner.

She had lived in Emporia since 1968, moving here from Pierce City, Missouri.

She was a member of the Americus Southern Baptist Church, Americus, Kansas, where she had served many years as Treasurer; the Americus Embroidery Club; Flint Hills Regional Quilt Guild; Cities Service Auxiliary; and the Emporia Square Dance Club.

Funeral Services will be at the Americus Southern Baptist Church, Americus, Kansas on Tuesday, December 7, at 1:00 P.M., conducted by Pastors Rick Smith, Dean Fox, and Jamie Griffith. Interment will be in the Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas.
Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church in Americus.
