Leroy Andrew "Andy" Gieber

Leroy Andrew “Andy” Gieber, 65, Emporia, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.

Andy was born in El Dorado, Kansas on July 22, 1958, the son of Leroy Andrew and Verna Lucille (Worley) Gieber.  He married Karla M. Kelly at Miami, Oklahoma on July 20, 1987.  Karla died February 17, 2021.  Surviving family members include daughter; Terah (Robert) McGuire, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, sons; Christopher Andrew (Amber) Gieber, Sparta, Missouri, and Matthew Ryan Gieber, Emporia, Kansas, brothers; John and Kenneth Gieber, both in Emporia, Kansas, grandchildren; Qwynn, Jadyn, and Devyn Gieber, and A.J. and Henry McGuire.   He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Andy was employed for 23 years at Holiday Resort Care Center in maintenance until his retirement 2 weeks ago.

Cremation is planned. The family will receive friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Emporia on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. The mass will be celebrated by Father Carter Zielinski of the church._
