Leslie Deweese

Leslie DeWeese, 77, Ottawa, and a former resident of Rantoul and Americus, Kansas, died at his home in Ottawa on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.

Leslie DeWeese was born April 2, 1933 on the family farm in Americus, Kansas, the son of Warren Dewey and Bertha E. (Klemm) DeWeese.

Surviving family members include: his brother, Carl DeWeese, Americus, Kansas; seven nieces and three nephews

His parents and two brothers died earlier.

Mr. DeWeese was a truck driver and also farmed in the Rantoul area. He served in the United States Army from 1953 through 1955

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Rev. Rick Grossenbacher, Calvary Baptist Church, Emporia. Interment will be in the Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, December 28, 2010 from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
