Linda L. Anderson

Linda L. (Myers) Anderson passed away at her home in Emporia on Monday, April 1, 2019.

Linda was born January 9, 1945 in Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of Marion and Rena Wells Myers.  She was a long-time employee of Emporia State and obtained her bachelor and master’s degrees prior to her retirement.  She moved to Michigan and was employed by the State of Michigan until she returned to Kansas in 2008.

She married Dana K. Anderson on August 7, 1965.  He preceded her in death on January 13, 2018.  She was also preceded by her son Alan in 2002, her parents and infant brother.

Linda is survived by her sister-in-law, Wendy Hull of Derby; nephew, Craig Hull; nieces, Kelly Haltom and Kerry Rea; and loyal family friend, Mark Carney, who was like a son to Dana and Linda.  She was devoted to her dog, Li-Lu and many other pets through the years.  She was fortunate to have many supportive friends.

In accordance with Linda’s wishes, there will be no service with cremation taken place.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Emporia, Kansas.  Interment at a later date will be held at the Mariadahl Cemetery, Olsburg, Kansas.  Memorial donations to the Emporia Friends of the Zoo can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
