Linda Diane Rhoads, Americus, Kansas, died at her home on July 16, 2025. She was 78 years old.
Linda was born in Garden City, Kansas, on December 20, 1946, the daughter of Donald and Edna (Dreher) Kreutzer. Linda moved to Monterrey, California in 1956, where she graduated high school. She moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1965, and married James R. Brogan in 1968. They divorced in 1977, and Linda moved to Emporia, Kansas, where she worked at Dolly Madison Bakery from 1977-1978. She married Tom Rhoads on August 18, 1988, in Emporia, Kansas.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Rhoads, Americus, Kansas; sons James P. (Marlo) Brogan, Emporia, Kansas; Sean (Vickie) Brogan, Buhler, Kansas; daughter Susan Brogan, Gardner, Kansas; stepson Rickey Lee (Melissa) Rhoads, Port St. Lucie, Florida; brothers Gary (JoAnn) Kreutzer, Haysville, Kansas; Jim (Kelly) Kreutzer, Hutchinson, Kansas; grandchildren Sienna Brogan, Buhler, Kansas; Kyle Goza, Overland Park, Kansas; Austin Rhoads, Bedford, Texas; Paige Rhoads, Port St. Lucie, Florida; Trevor Walburn, M'Kenna Walburn-Heins, Devin Walburn, Darian Walburn, all of Emporia, Kansas; Tyler (Victoria) Cantrall, Camden, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren Leland and Taylin Cantrall, Camden, North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her sister Carol Sue McCullough, and her parents.
Linda worked as a med aide at Holiday Resort in Emporia, Kansas, from 1990 to 2014. She loved her garden, planting roses, and working in her flower beds. Tom and Linda had a fifth-wheel, and enjoyed traveling around the country sightseeing, and attending bluegrass festivals. She adored cats, and had 8 throughout her life; two of which lived until they were 18 and 23 years old. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Emporia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Westside Baptist Church, 2200 Prairie Street, Emporia, Kansas, 66801. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas. Burial will follow the funeral service at Lebo Creek Cemetery, Lebo, Kansas.
