Linda K. Soendker of Emporia died on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was 71.
Linda was born on February 12, 1952, in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Walter Benjamin and Eula Evangeline Witmer Pooler. She married Clarence J. Soendker on November 23, 1973, in Topeka.
Surviving family members include: husband, Clarence J. Soendker of Emporia; son, Nathan P. (Wendi) Soendker of Emporia; brother, Norman Pooler of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Susan Walker of Milton, Florida; niece, Holly Walker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Earl Pooler, sisters Janet Elaine Reed, and Elizabeth J. Pooler.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Linda was a substitute teacher for several years. She then went to work for Hetlinger Developmental Services until her retirement. Throughout Linda’s life, she held an unwavering faith in God as a member of the Church of Christ in Emporia.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Church of Christ Church in Emporia with cremation following the service. The visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Church of Christ Church in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
