Lloyd E. Davidson

Lloyd E. Davidson of Emporia, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia. He was 94.  Lloyd was born on January 12, 1931, in Ellis, Kansas, the son of Harold R. and Cecil (Price) Davidson. He married Rachel "Jane" Long on September 27, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, they later divorced. He married Diana V. (Settlemyer) Green on March 17, 1984, and was married for 39 years. She passed away on January 17, 2024, in Emporia.

Surviving family members include his son, Thomas L. Hay of Lyons, KS; stepson, Allan R. Green of Emporia, KS; daughters, Ginger (Rocky) Sanders of Chapman KS, Brenda (Andrew) Thomson of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Vinessa (Westley) Polender of Hickory, NC; stepdaughter, Sheila D. Townsend of Topeka, KS; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers Arden, Ivan, and Harold Davidson; granddaughter, Heather Larson; stepdaughter, Maggie Spicer; grandsons, Chad Thomas, and Josh Townsend; great-granddaughter, Ellie Hay.

Lloyd enlisted in the US Army and served as a mechanic after graduating high school, later went back to get his bachelor's and master's degrees from Fort Hayes State College. Further studies in speech and hearing at the Institute of Logopedics in Wichita and KU Med. Center and was a Speech Therapist for USD #253 Emporia Public Schools for 21 years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Cremation is planned with a Memorial Service at 10:30AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia; with burial at 2:00PM at Geneva Cemetery in Geneva.
