Lloyd "Scotty" Oliver Hudson, Jr.

Lloyd O. “Scotty” Hudson, Jr., 73, of Emporia, Kansas passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Stormont Vail Health Center in Topeka, Kansas.

Scotty was born August 3, 1943 in Bath, Maine, the son of Lloyd O. and Esther (Cutliff) Hudson, Sr. He was in the graduating class of 1961 from Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Maine. Scotty joined the US Air Force in 1965 and served in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. He attended the College of Emporia from 1969 to 1971.

He was a dedicated employee of Panhandle Eastern Pipeline for 31 years, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Scotty was an outstanding basketball player in high school and played on the Holloman Air Force basketball and baseball teams. He was a proficient competitive golfer.

Scotty married Frances Dominguez on June 10, 1967 in Tularosa, New Mexico. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Esther Larby of Winterport, Maine; daughters, Christine Patrick and companion Bucky of Rogers, Arkansas, and Michelle Huelskamp and husband Corey of Augusta, Kansas; brothers, Phil Hudson and girlfriend Lina of Windham, Maine, and Mike Hudson and wife Rebecca of Winslow, Maine; sisters, Linda Gamble and husband Dean of Embden, Maine, and Sue Gendreau of Parrish, Florida; grandchildren, Sidney Patrick, Carson Patrick, and Ethan Patrick; and family friend, Penny Hickman.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, William and Gertrude Hudson and Harry and Pearl Cutliff; and a brother, Wayne Hudson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. Father Brandon Farrar will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia, and the family will receive friends until 8:00 P.M. following the Rosary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer pancan.org, Emporia State Athletics or Sacred Heart Catholic School and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
