Lois Jeanette Simons

Lois J. Simons, 90, of Emporia died Sunday, September 08, 2019 at her home. Cremation is planned.

Her memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Simons, Lois’ grandson, will officiate. The committal service will be held in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Mark Stukey will officiate. Memorial donations to the Ronald G. Wilson Scholarship Fund at ESU, may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett.

Lois Jeanette Wilson the daughter of Harry I. and Jessie Williams Wilson was born June 6, 1929 in Emporia. She married Hobart Eugene “Gene” Simons on August 23, 1947 in Kansas City Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2017.

She is survived by a daughter Sharon Simons of Emporia; three sons, David (Marlo) Simons of Liberty, Missouri, Tony (Julie) Simons of Topeka, and Ronald (Bonnie) Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Lois was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Owens; four sisters, Carolyn Oswald, Barbara Campbell, Beverly Taylor and Marjorie Howarth; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her and Gene’s Grocery Store and construction businesses.
