Lorene Lucille Pape (94), formerly of rural Olpe, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at Flint Hills Care Center in Emporia.
Her funeral service was held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Robison of the First Christian Church in Madison officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Olpe.
Lorene Lucille Coble, the daughter of Altavert and Blanche Jenks Coble was born on May 31, 1923 in Severy. She married Daniel Edwin Pape on December 12, 1944 in the Greenwood County Courthouse. He died June 14, 2014.
She is survived by two sons, Virgil Linn (Danielle) Pape of Olpe and Larry Daniel (Anita) Pape of Joplin, MO; two daughters, Leta Arlene (Jim) Blevins of Bolivar, MO and Diana Sue (David) Gile of Morgantown, WV; a brother, Ted Coble of Basehor, MO; a sister Pauline Coble of Howard. Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Leta Brookover, two brothers, Glenn and Floyd Coble; two half-brothers, Bob and George Coble; and a granddaughter, Jamie Pape.
She was a farm wife most of her life.
