Lori Rae Minor

Lori Rae Minor, 61, of Emporia died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her home.

Lori was born on January 4, 1957 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of John M. and Virginia A. Roe Henning.  She married Richard Schultz in 1978 but later divorced.  Lori married Hobart “Sonny” E. Minor, Sr. on May 31, 2008 at Peter Pan Park in Emporia.  He died on June 29, 2014 in Americus.

Surviving family members: daughter, Melody Mitchell (Bob) of Elmdale; son, Kristopher Schultz of Emporia; step-daughters, Tonya Lacey of Americus, and Rose Ann Irvin of Emporia; step-son, Hobart “Buster” E. Minor, Jr. of Americus; grandchildren, Mateus Mitchell, Melayna Mitchell, and Benjamin Lacey; brothers, Joshua Henning of Americus, John Henning of Lawrence; Zachary Henning of Stevensville, Texas; sisters, Lisa Preisner of Americus, and Letitia Cross of Arizona.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, children Ayla Davis, and Bryce Smith, sisters Leigh Henning, Lynn Henning, and Lou Anne Henning.

Lori worked at Dolly Madison for several years.  Lori was one of the kindest souls you could have met. She loved her Grandkids more than life itself and made sure they knew it. She lived for her family and loved animals to no end. Lori will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.  Burial will follow at the Americus Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions to the Emporia Friends of the Zoo can be sent in care of the funeral home.
