Loris Lyle Luginsland of rural Americus died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home. He was 84.
Loris was born on March 13, 1934 in rural Americus the son of Edward and Hilda Nanninga Luginsland. He married Janice Gaddis in 1958 but later divorced. He then married Dema McChristy Countryman on May 30, 1997. She survives.
Surviving family members include: son, Nathan Cody Luginsland, of Northglenn, Colorado; daughter, Nennette (Ken) Grantham of Northglenn, Colorado; brother, Rae C. (Joyce) Luginsland of Hutchinson, Kansas; step-children, Glenn (Shirley) Countryman of Keller, Texas, Audrey (Rusty) Briar and Corrina Countryman both of Emporia; step-grandchildren, Cody Briar, Joseph Coronel, and Brad Countryman.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Loris spent his life as a Farmer. He graduated from Kansas State University, and served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Americus United Methodist Church, Lyon County Farm Bureau, American Hunt Club and the National Rifle Association.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Burial will follow at the Americus Cemetery. Visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday night will be held at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the Americus United Methodist Church or Sunflower 4H can be sent in care of the funeral home.
