Louise Y. Heitman, 93, Emporia, Kansas, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
  
  
  Louise Y. Young was born at Clearwater, Kansas on July 19, 1917, the daughter of Seymore and Gladys Wolf Young. She married Walter R. Heitman at Clearwater on November 5, 1939. He died April 9, 1997.
  
  
  Surviving family members include: her daughter, Barbara Gimple, Emporia, Kansas; Son-In-Law, Rod Harrington, Bethel, Maine; brother, Jack Young of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, Amy Aranda, Emporia, Janell Browning, Topeka, Kansas, Rodney Harrington, Downers Grove, Illinois, and Ellen Harrington, Indianapolis, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Lane, Wyatt, and Reid Browning, and Evan, Brian, and Rachel Aranda.
  
  
  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter, Jonalou Harrington.
  
  
  Mrs. Heitman was a member of the First Christian Church of Emporia, Kansas; The Order of the Eastern Star, Oxford, Kansas; and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
  
  
  She worked for the Agriculture, Stabilization, and Conservations Services office in Howard, Elk County, Kansas. She was a graduate of North High School, Wichita, and had attended Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia.
  
  
  She had been an Emporia resident since 1992.
  
  
  Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Emporia, conducted by Pastor Bob Colerick. The graveside service will be Wednesday a 3:00 PM at the Clearwater Cemetery, Clearwater, Kansas.
  
  
  The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
  
  
  The memorial is with the church, and contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
