Lucille M. Cannon, Emporia, Kansas, died at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor, Emporia on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the age of 91.
Lucille M. Woehlert was born in Emporia, Kansas on October 23, 1919, the daughter of William and Lucy Ogliaro Woehlert. She married Joe Cannon on June 22, 1969 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He died March 1, 2002.
Surviving family members include: her sons, Louis Copt, Lecompton, Kansas, and Eric Copt, Georgetown, Texas; stepsons, Jay Cannon, Franklin, Tennessee, and James Cannon, Leawood, Kansas; sisters, Jean Kirk, Gering, Nebraska, and Mary Barnshaw, West Long Branch, New Jersey; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and sisters, Virginia Nevitt, and Lori Romine Tosone.
Lucille was a member of the First Congregational Church, Plymouth Daughters of the church, Emporia Social Service Club, and Trend Study Club, all of Emporia.
She and her husband, Joe, owned Cannon Grocery Store in Emporia for several years.
Cremation is planned.
The memorial service will be conducted Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Andrew McHenry of the church. A private inurnment will be held later in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
