Lucille A. Trear, 86 of Olpe, Kansas died Friday, December 29, 2017 in Olpe.
Lucille was born September 6, 1931 in Olpe the daughter of Seraphin F. and Anna D. (Fitzpatrick) Wendling. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Olpe. Lucille worked as the school secretary at USD #252 Harmony Hill School for 27 years. She retired 24 years ago. Lucille was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe, the St. Anne’s Altar Society, Flying Needles and was a volunteer at the Olpe Senior Center and Meals on Wheels.
Lucille married John M. Trear on June 28, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. He died April 21, 2002 in Olpe. She is survived by sons Ron Trear of Olpe, Ken Trear and wife Marcy of Olpe, Kevin Trear of Olpe, daughters Linda Haines and husband Don of Overbrook, Kansas, Kathy Orear of Olpe, brothers Sonny Wendling of Olpe, Joe Wendling of Olpe, John Wendling of Topeka, Kansas, sisters Marie Russell of Emporia, Kansas, Betty Black of Wylie, Texas, Dorothy Blaufuss of Olpe, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Richard Trear, Robert Trear, sister Theresa Coble, brother Father Francis Wendling, granddaughter Beth Trear, and son-in-law Phillip Orear.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. The celebrant will be Father John Cordes of the church. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or Olpe Knights of Columbus Hall to be used for a defibrillator and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
