Luis Tapia Hernandez

Luis Tapia Hernández de Emporia murió el lunes 1 de Enero de 2024 en Kansas City, Missouri. Nuestro amado hijo sólo tenía 33 años de edad. Luis nació el 22 de Noviembre de 1990 en Villa Morelos, Michoacán, México, hijo de Martín y María A. Hernández Tapia. Se graduó de Emporia High School en 2009, faltó algunos días a la escuela, pero aún así logró ser conocido en todas sus clases. Luis asistió a Flint Hills Technical College para comenzar su carrera en los negocios. Poco sabía él, y nosotros, que este iba a ser un largo viaje para él, que al final sí lo logro. Después de un tiempo, se inscribió en Emporia State University en 2016 para seguir adelante en su camino profesional. Sus primeros años en la universidad abordó sus aficiones de frente, refiriéndose al momento en el que fue uno de los instructores de kárate. Luis recibió su cinturón negro, regresó a casa todo magullado después de pelear profesionalmente contra su Maestro, siendo parte de su examen. Disfrutó enseñando karate a los niños pequeños durante toda la semana y él mismo practicó mucho para fortalecerse y perfeccionar su técnica. Luis impactó a esos niños y a sus familias. Durante toda esta enseñanza se tomó tiempo para sí mismo y había ido a Italia un par de veces. En sus vacaciones hizo muchos amigos, que todavía están presentes, incluso en el extranjero. Desde juegos hasta conversaciones serias, sus amigos valoraban sus aportes y Luis los atesoraba a todos. Luis se graduó de Emporia State en 2019 con su Licenciatura en Ciencias en Administración de Empresas con concentración en Emprendimiento (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Entrepreneurship). Estaba muy feliz por sus logros; Deberías haber visto que tan grande era su sonrisa. Los principios de 2019, Luis se había convertido en el Agente de Seguros para Farmers Insurance de Emporia. Al principio le dolió la cabeza, pero lo superó e hizo suyo el negocio. Sirvió la comunidad muy bien y se hizo aún más conocido, si eso fuera posible. Los clientes llamaban y Luis se aseguró de estar ahí para sus clientes. Si no tuviera sus respuestas, tomaría la iniciativa de encontrarlas. Entre sus largas horas de trabajo Luis continuó siendo parte de la comunidad aún más al ser parte de los Knights de Phythias. Luis apoyó su creencia de marcar una diferencia en la vida de los demás, así como en la suya propia. Y justo cuando pensabas que había terminado, por alguna razón él todavía quería más y lo consiguió. Luis se graduó con su Maestría en Administración de Empresas en Diciembre de 2023. Su sonrisa por sus logros era tan grande que iluminaría la sala. Luis Tapia Hernández logró dejar una impresión duradera en todas las personas que conoció y cada vez que entraba a la sala, todos sabían quién era.

Luis Tapia Hernandez of Emporia died on Monday, January 1, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri.  Our beloved son was only 33 years of age.  Luis was born on November 22, 1990, in Villa Morelos, Michoacan, Mexico the son of Martin and Maria A. Hernandez Tapia. He graduated from Emporia High School in 2009, he missed a few days of school, but still managed to be well known in all his classes. Luis attended Flint Hills Technical College to start his career in business. Little did he know, and us, that this was going to be a long journey for him, that in the end he did amazing. After some time, he enrolled at Emporia State University in 2016 to still truck on in his career path. His early years in college he took on his hobbies head on, referring to the point in time when he was one of the instructors for karate. Luis did receive his black belt; he came home all bruised up after sparing his karate Master as part of his examination. He enjoyed teaching the little kids’ karate throughout the week and he practiced hard himself to become stronger and perfect his technique. Luis impacted those kids as well as their families. During all this teaching he did take time for himself and had gone to Italy a couple times. In his vacations he made many friends, who are still present to this day, even overseas. From games to serious conversations his friends valued his input and Luis treasured every one of them. Luis graduated Emporia State in 2018 with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Entrepreneurship. He was so happy about his accomplishments; you should have seen just how big his smile was. By the end of 2018 to the early start of 2019 Luis had become the Agent for Farmers Insurance for Emporia. He did have a headache at first, but he managed through the headache and made the business his own. He served the community very well and became even more well known, if that was even possible. Clients would call and Luis made it a point to be there for them. If he did not have their answers, he would have the initiative to find them. During his long hours of work Luis continued to be part of the community even more by being part of the Knights of Phythias. Luis supported their belief to make a difference in the life of others, as well as his own. And just when you thought he was done, he for some reason still wanted more, and he got it. Luis graduated with his Master of Business Administration in December 2023. His smile for his accomplishments was so big it would light up the room. Luis Tapia Hernandez managed to make an everlasting impression on all the people he met and every time he entered the room, everyone knew who he was.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Emporia.  The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. before the service.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
