M. Jean Frederiksen, 82, formerly of rural Americus, Kansas, died on June 8, 2012 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.
Jean was born on October 28, 1929 in Council Grove, Kansas, the daughter of Theodore and Ada Piper Williams. She married Edward W. Frederiksen on June 6, 1948 in Salina, Kansas. He passed away at their home in rural Americus on January 12, 2007.
Survivors include: sons, David Frederiksen on Council Grove, Joseph Frederiksen of Louisa, Virginia, and Edward Frederiksen, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter that died at birth, Barbara Jean Frederiksen; and two brothers, James Williams and Logan Williams.
Jean was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bushong United Methodist Church, and the Homemaker Social Club around rural Americus.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Gene Huston of the Neosho Rapids United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Americus Cemetery, Americus.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, June 12, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
