Marcia Looper, 65, of Emporia passed away at her home on Monday, December 21, 2015.

Marcy was born on July 17, 1950 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Scott A. and Joan Robison Mouse. She married James Looper on December 29, 1973 in Emporia. He died on July 8, 2015 in Emporia.

Surviving family members include her sons, Ryan Looper and wife Amy of Gilbert, Arizona, and Evan Looper and fiancée Katherine Spicer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her daughter, Jamie Threlkeld of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her grandchildren; and her sisters, Merryl McRae and husband John of Iola, Kansas, and Lindy Whetzel and husband Bill of Emporia.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Marcy was an inspiration to everyone she knew. She was a Master Gardener, an amazing chef, and a loving mother and wife.

Cremation is planned with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23rd at the First United Methodist Church in Emporia. Memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church or to the National Teacher’s Hall of Fame can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
