Margaret Ann “Peggy” Rosenboom, 87, Emporia, Kansas, died at Holiday Resort Saturday, November 13, 2010.
Margaret Ann Ingles was born July 9, 1923 at Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Bertha Walker Ingles. She married Robert Nichols, then Melvin Coleman, both of whom she later divorced. She married Donald Rosenboom at Miami, Oklahoma September 29, 1964. He survives.
Other family members include: Daughter, Carol Burlile, Prairie Village, Kansas; Step-Daughter, Kathleen McCann, Ankeny, Iowa; Five Grandchildren, including three that she and Don raised, Lori Winn, Carrollton, Texas; Kristine Funston, Estherville, Iowa; and Andrew Holland, Derby, Kansas. There are also nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Violet; daughter, Lenora Jane “Janie” Holland; and great-grandson, Zachary Funston.
She worked as a desk clerk at the Mit-Way Hotel, then later at the Santa Fe Inn, until she retired in 1990.
Mrs. Rosenboom attended Emporia Schools, was a member of the First Friends Church, and the Auxiliary of Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Funeral services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Friday at 10:00 A.M. The service will be conducted by Rev Charity Sandstrom, First Friends Church. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00.
