Margaret A. Glover

Margaret Ann Schwindt Glover, 87, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Madison, Kansas, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Margaret Ann Schwindt was born in Emporia, Kansas, on May 7, 1939, to Clyde Otto and Anna Margaret (Richard) Schwindt. She was married to John Gail Glover, the love of her life, at the Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church in Emporia on June 21, 1959. Margaret graduated from Emporia State University in 1960. She taught school for 3 years, then began substituting after the birth of her first child. Over the years, Margaret worked part-time at an attorney’s office, both part-time and full-time at 2 different nursing homes, and part-time at the Citizens State Bank in Madison, Kansas. Margaret was a member of the Madison PEO Club, Civic Culture Club and the Madison United Methodist Church, where she was very involved, serving many different roles. Margaret always enjoyed music and played the piano, sang in the church choir, and at times in the ESU Summer Community Choir. She also enjoyed playing games with her family and had been working on writing family history for her children.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and 2 brother-in-laws, Thomas DeWeese, and Lloyd Christmore.

She is survived by her children: Mark (Lisa) Glover of Wichita, Bradley (Sheri) Glover of Rose Hill, Steven (Donna) Glover of Peabody, and Crystal Helten of Wichita; sister Marilyn Christmore of Emporia, sister Dorothy DeWeese of Emporia, brother Robert (Carolyn) Schwindt of Salado, TX, sister Linda (Don) Hansen of Spring Hill, and brother James (Shera Lyn) Schwindt of Olpe; grandchildren Ashley (Joe) Wolf, Alyssa Glover, Chelsie (Xander) Baldwin, Zachary (Maggie) Glover, Kerri (Dane) Riley, Johnathan Glover, Jefferson Glover, and Xavier Helten; and six great-grandchildren: Denton Riley, Kensi Riley, Denver Riley, Oliver Glover, Andrew Wolf, and Carter Wolf.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Madison Global Methodist Church, Madison, Kansas. The service will be conducted by Pastor John Bright. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas. The family will receive family and friends at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday night.
