Margaret Harris

Maggie "Margaret" Harris of Emporia, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.  She was 87.

Margaret was born on June 9, 1938, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Jose and Yancia Solis Sanchez. She graduated from Emporia High School.  Margaret worked for many years at Emporia State University as a Custodian and later at Holiday Resort Care Center.  In her spare time, she enjoyed family, dancing and going to yard sales.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Brenda Harris, Reyes Aguirre, and Rigo Aguirre all of Emporia, great-grandchildren, Ernesto Castillo, Raymundo Rodriguez, Daniela Rodriguez, Yolanda Castillo, Lorena Rodriguez and many others; sisters, Mary Ellen Sotelo and Juanita Hernandez both of Emporia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughters Sharon Aguirre and Brenda Kay Harris.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home with visitation following until 8:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Emporia with cremation following.  A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
