Marian Lucille Finlay, 70, of rural Emporia, died on Tuesday October 26, 2010 at her home.
  
  
  Marian Lucille Hamilton was born on December 19, 1939 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Marion Paul and Nellie Faye (Hutchens) Hamilton. She married Robert L. Finlay on October 26, 1958 in Augusta, Kansas. He survives at the home.
  
  
  Other survivors include:
  
  Daughters: April D. Finlay and husband Aaron Davis of Emporia, Kansas; and Amber D. Crowl and Husband Cliff of Oxford, Kansas.
  
  Sister: Delores Cook of Rogers, Arkansas
  
  Five Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren
  
  
  She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers David and Richard Hamilton.
  
  
  For 27 years she was co-owner and bookkeeper of BPE Inc, and managed the company archery shop in Emporia. She retired five years ago. For many years she was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia, but was currently a member of the Sardis Congregational Church south of Emporia. She was a lifetime member of the Emporia Friends of the Zoo, and a former Brownie Scout Leader, a past Neighborhood Chair at the Mary Herbert Elementary School, Emporia, and the Humane Society. Marian graduated from Dodge City High School in Dodge City, Kansas
  
  
  Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Gary Gooszen of the Sardis Congregational Church. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. To 7:30 P.M. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery south of Emporia. Memorial contributions to the Emporia Friends of the Zoo may be sent in care of the funeral home.
