Marie J. Waterman, 82 of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, died on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Center in Port Jefferson, New York.
Marie was born on March 20, 1928 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, the daughter of Roland and Ivy (Stanley) Johnson. In 1964 she married Edward L. Waterman in Anaheim, California. He died on February 28, 2010, at the Stony Brook University Hospital in Brookhaven, New York.
Surviving family members include:
Son: Paul Waterman of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York.
Daughter: Lisa Waterman of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York.
Two Grandchildren.
Brothers: Trevor Johnson of Hamilton, New York; and Joseph Johnson of Chino Valley, Arizona.
Sisters: Enid Smythe of Canada; and Barbara Teixeira of Selden, New York.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a half-brother.
Marie worked at a bank for years before becoming a homemaker.
The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 15,2010, at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, with Father Rich Warsnak of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery east of Emporia.
