Marilyn Ann Kuhlmann

Marilyn Ann Kuhlmann of Olpe, Kansas died on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Emporia Place, Emporia, Kansas.

Marilyn was born on August 25, 1939 in Olpe, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Caroline Nuessen Burenheide.  She married Roy Kuhlmann on May 3, 1958 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe.

Surviving family members include: sons, Bart Kuhlmann and wife Joan of Burlington, Mike Kuhlmann and wife Virginia of Matfield Green, and Craig Kuhlmann and wife Lisa of Burlington; daughters, Lisa Cole and husband Mike of Olpe, and Linda Davis and husband Bruce of Emporia; brothers, Bob Burenheide of Topeka, and Kenny Burenheide and wife Janet of Hiawatha; seventeen grandchildren, and twenty one great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Fred Burenheide, and daughter-in-law Genese Kuhlmann.

Marilyn was the bookkeeper at Modern Air Conditioning in Emporia for nearly 40 years.  She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society.  She also belonged to the Olpe Bridge Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, neighbors, and close friends.  She also enjoyed traveling, growing African violets, watching birds, playing cards, dominoes, and other games with friends and especially with her children and grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the church in Olpe.  Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hand in Hand Hospice of Emporia can be sent in care of the funeral home.
