Marjorie Lee Horton passed away on April 24, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 89 years old.

Marjorie was born on August 28, 1934, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Robert E. Lee and Lucile (Crumley) Hubbard. She married Ray Kenneth Horton at First Methodist Church in Emporia, Kansas, on September 6, 1953. He passed on July 17, 2009.

She is survived by son Monty (Lisa) Horton, Perryton, OK; daughter Debby (Mike) Lay, Jenks, OK; grandchildren Shawn Lay, Matthew Lay, Stacy Lay Whitworth, Ashley Ewy, A.J. Horton; and a multitude of great-grandchildren in Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and brother Chris Hubbard.

Marjorie was a member of Victory Fellowship Church, as well as the Rosean Social Circle.

At Victory, she was a dedicated member of the prayer team and was an altar worker.

Marjorie graduated from Emporia High School. She was first and foremost a farm wife and mother, but later added a variety of jobs to her experience. She worked at the Lyon County Extension Office, the Farmer’s Home Administration, Newman Memorial Hospital, Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant, and Tru Value Hardware. She enjoyed the travel opportunity her work involved, especially to Washington D.C.

She volunteered with local 4-H Club activities and was an involved member of the community.

She moved from Emporia to Tulsa in 2018 and was a resident at University Village Retirement Center at her passing.
