Marjorie Elaine Jeffrey (91) of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia.
Marjorie Elaine Moore, the daughter of Eugene C. and Carrie Lou Farthing Moore, was born April 20, 1920 in Hutchinson, Kansas. On October 29, 1944, she married George Jeffrey in Hutchinson. He died June 22, 2004.
She is survived by: one son, Michael Kevin Jeffrey of Fairbanks, Alaska; and one nephew, Wayne Jeffrey of Emporia.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; two sisters, Lois Kirkhuff and Velma Moore; and one brother, Maynard Moore.
Marjorie had been a secretary at Emporia State University for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Women’s Circle of the church, the Post Office Auxiliary and AARP.
The funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2011 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral home. Pastor Rob Clausen of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
