Marjorie I. Jones

Marjorie I. Jones, 94 of Emporia, Kansas died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Holiday Resort, Emporia.

Marjorie was born March 23, 1922 in Virgil, Kansas the daughter of Jesse and Anna (Neuenschwander) Storrer. She was a graduate of Emporia High School and a homemaker. Marjorie was a member of the First Christian Church in Emporia.

Marjorie married Wayne E. Jones on August 9, 1941 in Emporia. He died January 8, 1978 in Emporia.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Hiller and husband Gerald of Overland Park, Kansas, and Nancy Mayer and husband Jay of Emporia; grandchildren, Kevin Mayer and wife Sheri, Rebecca Steinke and husband Scott and Matthew Hiller; and great-grandchildren, Dalton Mayer, and Kayla and Kinslee Steinke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Byron Storrer and Stanley Storrer.

Marjorie’s family would like to thank the many wonderful care providers at Holiday Resort in Emporia. Marjorie lived a long and full life. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Pastor David Webb of the First Christian Church in Emporia will be officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
