Marjorie Helen Rose, 89, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at her home in Emporia.
Marjorie Helen Coffman was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 19, 1925, the daughter of Earl R. and Edith (Seeliger) Coffman. She married Edward Lee Rose July 22, 1947, in Newkirk, Oklahoma. He died March 15, 2001 in Topeka, Kansas.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Carole A. Woydziak, Emporia, and Karen S. Lane, Eudora, Kansas; and son, Edward L. Rose, Jr., Arrington, Tennessee. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Jason Woydziak, Sherry Willard, Victoria Miller, Christa Rose, Matthew Lane, and Nicole Lane; as well as great-grandchildren, Sabrina Woydziak, Tyler Hertlein, Eric Hertlein, C.J. Miller, Logan Callaway, Breckin Miller, and Reagan Lane.
Her son-in-law, Kevin D. Lane, died earlier.
Mrs. Rose was a member of the First Christian Church, and the women’s organization at the church.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. The casket will remain closed. Services will be conducted by Pastor Bob Colerick, First Christian Church. Interment will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia.
A memorial has been established with the Emporia Animal Shelter; contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
