Mark Allen Gardner, 59 of Emporia, Kansas died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia.
Mark was born February 4, 1959 in Plattsburgh, New York the son of William E. “Bill” and Cara Lee (Kennedy) Gardner. He worked in maintenance for 22 years at Iowa Beef Processors and Tyson Fresh Meats. Mark was in Naval Reserves, a member of the Emporia Masonic Lodge #12, A.F. & A.M, Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion.
Mark is survived by his sons Matthew of St. Louis, Missouri, Joshua of Lawrence, Kansas, Richard of Emporia, James of Emporia, Kelly of Conroe, Texas, brothers Paul of Topeka, Kansas, David of Elkton, South Dakota and 13 grandchildren Alec, Cole, Emma, Brooke, Noah, Rorie, Lane, Divinity, Maricela, Mia, Norah, Kendyl and Aaron Jace. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation is planned. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Gardner Fund at the American Legion and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
