Mark J. Lyon, 41, of Strong City, Kansas, died on May 14, 2011 at his home.
Mark was born on December 17, 1969 in Okarche, Oklahoma, the son of H. Chris and Sandra K. (Harder) Lyon.
Surviving family members include: mother, Sandra K. Lyon and stepfather, Melvin Beaushaw of Emporia, Kansas; brother, Terry Lyon of Allen, Kansas; sister, Heather Lyon of Otis, Kansas; three nieces; and three nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his father, H. Chris Lyon; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John and Ellen Lyon, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan and Marcella Harder.
Mark worked as a chef in the early 1990’s at the Ramada Inn in Emporia. He later was a furniture mover in Durango, Colorado, before moving back to Strong City, Kansas.
Cremation in planned, with a private family memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions to either Hand in Hand Hospice or the Terry Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University may be sent in care of the funeral home.
