Martha Ann Leek, 57, of Emporia, died on February 17, 2011 at her home after an extended battle with breast cancer.
Martha was born on August 17, 1953 in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Joetta Mascher Wills. She married Rodger A. Leek on February 5, 1972 in Clarinda, Iowa. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include: son, Tony and wife Kaylene Leek and their children Courtney and Dalton of Emporia, Kansas; daughter, Angela Leek and her daughter Analicia also of Emporia, Kansas; her mother, Joetta Anderson of Belton, Missouri; brothers, Jim Wills of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; and Jerry Wills of Watauga, Texas; sisters, Kathy Mercer of Stone Mt., Georgia., Patty Ruiz of Belton, Missouri, and Paula Mann of Independence, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her father Kenneth Wills, and stepfather Donald Anderson.
Martha served as the assistant to the C.E.O. of TFI Family Services, Inc., where she had been employed for 18 years. She retired a year ago. Martha was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, International Association of Administrative Professionals – Heartland Chapter, United Methodist Women Phoebe Circle, Girls Scouts of Kansas Heartland, and Leadership Emporia.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 21, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia, with Pastor Earl Detwiler of the church conducting the service. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery south of Emporia following the service. The visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, Emporia.
Memorial contributions are asked to be made to Kansas Masonic Foundation for use of the Kansas Masonic Cancer Research Institute at KU Med Center, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
