Martin Ringgold

Martin Allen "Marty" Ringgold, 61, Emporia, Kansas, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Martin Ringgold was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on January 18, 1964, the son of Paul and Geraldine (Sloup) Ringgold. He is survived by his sons: Miles Ringgold, Emporia, Kansas and Mason (Christy) Ringgold, Allen, Kansas, his mother; Geraldine Ringgold, Ponca City, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Hadlee Ringgold, Emma Swindle, and Owen Ringgold, his sister; Stephanie Ringgold, Ponca City, Oklahoma and his ex-wife; Cindy Drennon, Lawrence, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.

Mr. Ringgold was a firefighter/ EMT for the Emporia Fire Department and later was a security guard at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station. He was retired. He had been a member of the Kansas National Guard, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Cremation is planned. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Kansas.

A memorial has been established for the Emporia All Veterans Memorial with contributions sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801
