Mary T. Cuadra, 81, of Emporia, Kansas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 30, 2012 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
Mary was born on May 18, 1931 in rural Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of John and Kathryn Wagner O’Neil. She married Kenneth D. Cuadra on November 14, 1953 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emerald, Kansas. He died on December 3, 2001 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: son, Ben and wife Tammy Cuadra of Derby, Kansas; daughters, Annette and husband Roy Miller of Emporia, and Denise and husband Sam Scott of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jennifer Winland of Portland, Tennessee, Kendra Scott of Cleveland, Tennessee, Jesse Miller of Emporia, Chris Cuadra of Wichita, and Lindsay Cuadra of Derby, Kansas; and great-granddaughter, Arielle Cuadra of Wichita.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John L., Charles, and Patrick O’Neil.
Mary was a homemaker and mother prior to working at Dolly Madison for 20 plus years. After retirement, she cared for Kenny until his last day. She loved and lived her religion at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. Mary was very active with the Emporia Abundant Harvest, and an avid fan of KU basketball.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 6, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. Mass will be conducted by Father Rich Warsnak of the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia. The Rosary will be recited at 2:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
