Mary Louise Flowers, 97, of Emporia, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2011, in Emporia, Kansas.
  
  
  Louise married Lorin Flowers on March 30, 1936, in Mansfield, Ohio. When Lorin retired from the post office, she helped him cater at the Emporia Country Club. Soon after, she was hired as the Director of the lunch program at Butcher School. She was excited about working with children. Louise served them balance lunches and taught them nutrition. She was considered one of the most outstanding cooks in Emporia. All her loving family and friends will miss her.
  
  
  She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Roberson; her grandchildren, Cassandra Roberson, Marsha Jo (Bill) Harder, Willa Louise (Steve) Mitchell, and Stuart Roberson; and five great-grandchildren.
  
  
  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin, and her mother Millie Williams.
  
  
  The memorial service will be held in Emporia at Mount Olive A.M.E. Church, 601 Congress Street, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.
