Mary Joann Gallup

Mary Jo Gallup, 81, Emporia, Kansas, passed away peacefully to see the Lord on Thursday,
September 26, 2024 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

Mary Jo Ann Williams was born on January 25, 1943 in Clay Center, Kansas, the daughter of Ide H. and Lucy (Tannehill) Williams. She married Roy Gallup on September 28, 1968 in Emporia. He survives. She is also survived by her son; Greg of Emporia. She received her BS degree in Education from Kansas State Teachers College (now Emporia State University) and taught elementary school in Topeka, Kansas prior to her marriage to Roy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporia.

Her favorite times were visiting with people, and planting and caring for her flowers in the spring. She will always be remembered for her love of family and kindness to others. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Emporia on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.
