Mary Lynn Palmer of Wichita, Kansas died on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas.  She was 69.

Mary was born on February 1, 1952 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Clifford and Virginia Dieker Myers.  She married William L. Palmer on December 29, 1968 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Emporia.  He passed away on August 14, 2014, after a battle with bile duct cancer, in Topeka, Kansas.

Surviving family members include daughters, Rebecca Palmer and Dawn (Spencer) Keller both of Wichita, and Cheryl (Ryan) Cockerham of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; grandsons, William Thomas Spencer Keller, and Riley Webb Cockerham; and sister, Tamie (Wayne) Vahsholtz of Emporia.  She will be missed by her Yorkshire Terrier Buddy, her “Little Fart.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather George Bayless, son Robert Palmer, daughter Michelle Palmer, brother Larry Myers, and sisters Linda Collins, Sue Henry, and Nancy Rhoads.

Mary was a CNA with Midwest Health in Topeka before retiring in 2011.  After she retired, she helped with the Friendship Meals put on by Aging Projects at Maple Gardens Village in Wichita, Kansas until 2020.

Cremation is planned with a private graveside service where she and her husband William will be interred at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Emporia.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the American Lung Association can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
