Mary Belle Reber, 85, Emporia, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, April 11, 2013 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Mary Belle Fisher was born on the family farm near Lebo, Kansas on October 5, 1927, the daughter of Ralph and Viola May (Hunt) Fisher. She married Billie Joe Lane and they later divorced. She married Fred Peterson Reber on October 17, 1967 at Emporia. He passed away November 27, 2002 in Emporia.
She is survived by her children, Daryn Lane, Glenda Sunter, and Vicki Reber, Emporia, and Brenda Milam, Olathe, Kansas; stepchildren, Fred and Ron Reber, Emporia, and Kerin Brock, Admire, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reber was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and a stepson, Terry Reber.
She was a homemaker, and had worked at the Emporia Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company as a secretary in the 1960’s. She was a volunteer Pink Lady and also crocheted new born hats and gift shop items for the Newman Regional Health Auxiliary. She also helped with Red Cross Blood Drives and at Hetlinger Developmental Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, conducted by Pastor Bob Colerick, First Christian Church. Interment will follow at the Lincoln Cemetery, Lebo, Kansas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2013 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M.
Memorials have been established with either Emporia Friends of the Zoo or Hand In Hand Hospice, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home.
