Mary A. Stewart, 84, of Americus, Kansas, died Sunday, December 28, at her home in rural Americus.
Mary Alice Jamison was born July 4, 1930 to Herbert R. and Margaret Hadden Jamison in McDonald, Pennsylvania, where she lived until her marriage. She married Leslie Alfred Stewart on October 10, 1959 in McDonald, Pennsylvania. They had 45 years together, as Leslie died on their 45th anniversary on October 10, 2004.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Margaret Ann Stewart of St. Louis, Missouri; two sons, James Stewart and Wayne Stewart both of Americus; and a brother, Russell Jamison of McDonald, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a twin sister, Margaret Love; and two brothers, James Jamison and Frank Jamison.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Emporia Presbyterian Church West Campus, 1702 W. 15th Avenue. Pastor Ron Phelps will officiate. Burial will follow in Americus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mary requested memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
