Michael Ray Boyce of rural Emporia, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the age of 62.
Mike was born in Emporia, Kansas on August 3, 1955, the eldest son of Donald Morris and Mona Patricia Sue (Hanifan) Boyce. He and Connie Ann Wellnitz were married in Emporia, Kansas on May 17, 1975. Connie survives of the home.
Mike is survived by a large and loving family. His wife; daughters, Michele Boyce, Emporia, and Valerie Greeve, and her husband, Jeremy, Mobile, AL; son, Andrew Boyce, and his wife, Taumi, Emporia; five Brothers, Randall Boyce, Emporia, Edward Boyce, Admire, Ronald Boyce, Allen, Anthony Boyce, Paola, and Jerry Boyce, Henderson, NV; two sisters, Tamla Price, Reading, and Pamla Carter, Emporia; and grandchildren, Joseph Mueller, Green Bay, WI, Brandon Boyce, Dalton Brammell, Savannah Brammell, Tanner Boyce, and Kaley Boyce, all of Emporia, and Bailey Tollett, Mobile, AL. A beloved friend to so many he met throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter.
Mike was a lifetime farmer/stockman and mechanic, and had been retired from Dolly Madison Bakery 9 years. He graduated from Northern Heights High School, Allen, and Flint Hills Technical College, Emporia, in 1973.
He was a member of Flint Hills Christian Church, and on the board of Lyon County Rural Water District No. 5.
The family will receive friends at the Harvest House of Flint Hills Christian Church Thursday evening, August 10, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, August 11 at 2:00 P.M. at the Harvest House of Flint Hills Christian Church, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Dave Hintz of the church. Burial will follow in Rosean Cemetery, north of Emporia.
