Mildred Lydia Bura, 88, of Emporia, died on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
Mildred was born February 2, 1922, the daughter of Walter and Lydia (Schultz) Bahre. She married Aaron Alfred Bura on September 15, 1946 in McPherson, Kansas. He survives of the home.

Brother: Marvin Bahre of Hemet, California
Sister: LaVerne Bahre of Sugar Creek, Missouri
Grandchildren: Stephanie Brening of Cleveland, Tennessee; Aaron Bura of Lilburn, Georgia; and Sarah Jones of Montgomery, Alabama.
Great-Grandson: Caleb Brening of Cleveland, Tennessee
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Rogene Bahre.
Mildred was a Cafeteria Worker at the Kansas State Teachers College. She later worked in the Laundry Room at Newman Hospital in Emporia before retiring 30 yrs. ago. After retirement, she was a Daycare Provider. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia, the L.W.M.L. Ladies Group at Messiah Lutheran Church, D.A.V., Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion Auxiliary, Lowry-Funston Post #1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
The funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier conducting the service. The visitation will be 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday night at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Burial will be in the afternoon at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Winfield, Winfield, Kansas.
Memorial have been Established to Messiah Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
