Mildred Helen DeMotte, 93, of Emporia, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

Mildred Helen Bolton was born January 17, 1919 in rural Olpe, Kansas, the daughter of James Fredrick and Olive (Fritts) Bolton. Mildred was a graduate of Emporia High School. She was a homemaker.

Mildred married John E. DeMotte, Sr. in 1940. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by: four sons, John E. DeMotte, Jr. of Mokelumne, California; Donald O. DeMotte of Lenexa, Kansas; James E. DeMotte of Emporia, and Arthur Eugene DeMotte of Topeka; a daughter, Juanita D. Roy of Lenexa; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Orville Bolton and Dale Bolton, and two that died in infancy; and two sisters, Hazel Foster and Fern Bolton.

Mildred was a member and past president of the Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Emporia. She was also very active with the Navy Mothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Pastor Lee Hoskins of Emporia will be officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Olpe, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
