Mildred Louise Jones-Butterfield, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.
Mildred Louise Gahagan was born March 30, 1922, the daughter of Van Augustus and Laura (McCollum) Gahagan, in Lebo, Kansas. She was a graduate of Lebo High School.
Mildred married Howard McCullough in Emporia, Kansas on June 26, 1943. He died March 14, 1977 in Emporia. She then married Russell Jones on November 1, 1982 in Emporia. He died August 25, 1990 in Emporia. Mildred later married Dearle Butterfield in Miami, Oklahoma on December 7, 1994. He died November 27, 2002 in Burlington, Kansas. Mildred was a homemaker.
Mildred is survived by: a niece, Bernice Evans of Emporia; nephews, Bob Gahagan of San Jose, California, and Chris Gahagan of Kansas City, Missouri; great-nieces, Kristina Hannan of San Jose, Kara Carlson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Samantha Gahagan of Chicago, Illinois, Miranda Gahagan of San Jose, and Morgan Gahagan of Denver, Colorado; great-nephew, Grant Gahagan of Kansas City, Missouri; and great-great-nephews, Gage Hannan of San Jose, and Owen Hannan of San Jose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all three husbands; and a brother, Derrell Van Gahagan.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Patio Garden in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Mr. Lee Hoskins of Emporia will be officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
