Mildred R. Romine, 92, of Emporia died Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Mildred was born on December 14, 1924 in rural Lyon County the daughter of Howard A. and Leona Finnell Rees. She married Dean L. Romine on April 30, 1943 in Emporia. He died on October 29, 1986 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: son, Gary Romine and wife Rita of Emporia; daughter, Vickie Triemer and husband Norman of Council Grove; grandchildren, Kelli Johnsen, Kevin Romine, and Abigail Triemer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Barry Dean Romine, sister Imogene Wolvington.
Mildred was a homemaker, rancher, a jeweler, owner of the Gold Nugget in Emporia.
Cremation is planned with a Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Emporia. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Alpine Cemetery, Turkey Point at Melvern Lake. Memorial contributions to The Gleason Initiative Foundation or Buck Animal Welfare Fund can be sent in care of the funeral home.
