Myrl A. Fager, 79, Rural Emporia, Kansas, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

Myrl Fager was born June 12, 1937 at McCune, Kansas, the son of Roy C. and Marie (Glasgow) Fager. Myrl married Carole Jones April, 4, 1959 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington, D.C. She survives of the home.

Other family members include sons; Fred C. Fager, Gardner, Kansas and Daryl Fager, Shawnee, Kansas, Daughter; Julie Craig, Olathe, Kansas, Sisters, Theresa Swink and Helen Machbanks, Sister-In-Law; Betty Fager, and Brother-In-Law; Alban Madl. Grandchildren; Dr. Aaron Craig, Adam Craig, Andrew Craig, Eddie Fager, and Samantha Fager, Great-grandchildren; Alex Craig, Aaron Asher Craig, Zachary Bridge, and Martina Rose Fager.

Mr. Fager was preceded in death by his son; Ronald C. Fager, who died in March of 1980, as well as five brothers and two sisters.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, being honorably discharged in 1962. He was employed as an assembler at the General Motors facility in Fairfax, Kansas until he retired in 1991. Mr. Fager was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local #31.

Cremation is planned

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday at 10:30 A.M. with Father Brandon Farrar, Celebrant. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the Rosary until 7:30 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Emporia All-Veterans Memorial with contributions sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801
