Nellie L. Siebenaler, 70, of rural Madison, Kansas, died on July 8, 2011 at Flint Hills Care Center in Emporia, Kansas.

Nellie L. Wilhite was born on September 22, 1940 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Edith V. (Taylor) Wihite. She married Gerald Siebenaler on April 28, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia, Kansas. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include: son, Michael Siebenaler of Emporia, Kansas;
Daughters, Gail Finlayson of Gridley, Kansas, and Nae McIlvain of Olpe, Kansas;
Brother, Earl Wilhite of Long Beach, California; grandchildren; Jake Siebenaler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ashley Altis of Mustang, Oklahoma, Levi McIlvain of Olpe, Kansas, Zachary Finleyson of Mustang, Oklahoma, Kohl McIlvain of Olpe, Kansas, Marah McIlvain of Olpe, Kansas, and Jessica Siebenaler of Waverly, Kansas; and great-granddaughter, Hailey Campbell of Mustang, Oklahoma.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dave Wilhite; and a half-sister Vinita English.

Nellie started working as a waitress at the age of 13. She was a waitress at the Max Lunch, John and Teds, the restaurant on the Turnpike rest stop, and at Nickerson Farms in Emporia. She later went on to be the meat wrapper at Reebles North, and then Dillons East before retiring in 1983. Nellie graduated from Emporia High School in the class of 1958. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. She loved Bingo and was a very strong supporter in the activities of her children and grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held at10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Jess Allen of the Lamont Wesleyan Church, in Lamont, Kansas. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2011 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A private inurnment will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olpe at a later date.
